An undergraduate gives back to the UCLA Fund to provide other students the opportunity to have their own Bruin experience.

Navjot Sandhu ’15, a neuroscience major and research assistant in the UCLA Semel Institute focusing on autistic and schizophrenic patients, found her calling at UCLA. She credits her professors not only with helping her make the most of her time here but also with inspiring her desire to become a pediatrician.

Sandhu expressed her appreciation with a leadership gift to the UCLA Fund, making her a member of the Chancellor’s Student Circle. The organization recognizes students in any undergraduate program who support the university at leadership levels by providing exclusive networking opportunities designed to strengthen ties with UCLA alumni and each other.

Giving back is in Sandhu’s DNA. She has served as a Global Medical Brigades volunteer in Honduras, providing basic health care for people in remote areas. “Bruin philanthropy allowed me to have that amazing experience,” says Sandhu. “I hope my giving can create opportunities for others.”
